Dr. Steven James Svabek - Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Steven James Svabek is a board certified orthopedic surgeon operating out of Coral
Springs, Florida. He attended college at both the University of Kansas and St. Mary’s
University. Wasting little time, Steven immediately was accepted to the Kirksville
College of Osteopathic Medicine where he completed medical school. Upon graduation,
he performed a one-year internship followed by his orthopedic residency at Peninsula
Hospital Center. Steven concluded his spine fellowship in 1998, at the University of
Colorado’s Health Sciences Center.
Steven began his professional career in the field of orthopedics in 1998, at Coordinated
Health Systems in Bethlehem, PA, with a focus on spine surgery. He worked within
the American Health Network, located in Avon, Indiana, from 2002 to 2006. Having
gathered sufficient expertise within the field, Dr. Svabek opened his own private in
2007. Currently, he resides at the Florida Orthopedic and Spine Center, serving as a staff employed orthopedic surgeon.
Steven has also shared his knowledge with the community, serving as both an educator and researcher. He was granted a role as an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Colorado. One of his greatest accomplishments was being promoted to the Director of the Spine Surgical Program at Johnson Memorial Hospital – a non-profitinstitution located in Franklin, Indiana. Steven has also displayed his intimate knowledge of orthopedics and advanced technology through his publications, consisting of research papers on a wide array of topics. Belonging to five professional memberships and a candidate for another, Dr. Steven Svabek is a consummate, well-rounded professional, skilled in all aspects of orthopedic surgery.
